2025 Summer Session Information

Summer Session

During the summer session, CCPSOnline offers courses for first-time takers. CCPS and non-CCPS students who have not previously taken a course may apply to attend. A maximum of two courses may be taken during the summer session.

The summer session begins on Monday, June 15 at 8:30 a.m. and concludes on Thursday, July 24 at 11 a.m. Students who anticipate graduating and participating in the graduation ceremony during the summer must complete all coursework by 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17.

For students that do not attend CCPS schools, please contact your current school or program to ensure that they will accept the courses you are requesting with CCPSOnline. 

Application Dates

  • OPENS - Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 at 9 a.m.

  • CLOSES - Friday April 25, 2025 at 5 p.m.

Students are permitted to take up to two accelerated courses during the summer session.

Accelerate Course Fees

Please note that fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.

  • Full Credit (Year) Class for residents: $325

  • Half Credit (Semester) Class for residents: $200

  • Full Credit (Year) Class for non-residents: $875

  • Half Credit (Semester) Class for non-residents: $450

Class Length

Time spent in your course(s) is similar to time spent in face-to-face classes. This can vary by student and by course; however, you can expect to spend 4 to 6 hours daily per course. It is vital that you login to your course daily to check for course announcements, messages in your Canvas Inbox, assignments that are due, and any assignment feedback. Then, begin your lesson.

  • CCPS Central Office - Daily, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the CCPS Finance Office located at 9900 Krause Road, Chesterfield VA 23832

Please make checks payable to CCPS.

No CCPSOnline fee payments should be made at the school of residence.

Refunds

Refund requests are to be made via e-mail to ccpsonline@ccpsnet.net and will require administrative approval.

The last day to submit a refund request is by 5 p.m. on June 23, 2025.

Application Process

  • The family completes the application using the link on this page.

  • The family communicates with their school of residence counselor to determine the courses that need to be taken.

  • The family completes the payment form linked on this page.

  • The student’s home school counselor verifies that the course(s) requested is appropriate.

  • CCPSOnline notifies the student of acceptance and completes the enrollment.

  • The Application Tracker can be used to determine the application status as it moves through this process.

SOL Testing

  • Students taking a class with an end-of-course SOL exam will take their test in-person at CTC@Hull (13900 Hull Street Road, Midlothian, VA, 23112).

  • Students graduating in July 2025 will test the week of July 14-17. All other students test the last week of the summer program (July 21-24).

  • Testing information will be emailed to students and parents before the end of June.

CPR Training

Students taking HPE 9 or PE 9 should plan to attend a CPR demonstration July 9 or 14 in order to fulfill the requirement for graduation. The training is located at CTC@Hull (13900 Hull Street Road) from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Students must sign up for a timeslot as space is limited.
